Programs
These programs and services are sponsored by Mercy Medical Center and Community Services of Stark County with assistance and grant funding from local foundations and groups.

ASK A NURSE
This health program is held on the last Thursday of each month (except July and December).  It is held in the Community Room from Noon-l:00 pm.  Blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol checks are available as well as a short program on the topic of the month. Additional screenings are available on a rotating schedule. A light lunch is served. An adult must accompany children.

ASK A NURSE HOME VISITS
This program is a special part of Ask A Nurse. A team of people, including a nurse, visits senior citizens and house-bound people to check blood pressure, bring lunch, and visit. If you know someone in your building who should be on our "home visit" list, please contact the Rental Office.

SNACK SHOP
Middle school students from the community are welcome to apply to work in the Skyline Snack Shop. The Snack Shop is located in the mailroom. Participants learn valuable business skills and earn a percentage of the profits, as well as get to know neighbors around the community during store hours. Applications are available in the Rental Office.

CAMP AKWABA
Elementary school-aged children are invited to attend this summer peace camp offered during July at People's Baptist Church (located on the hill).  Daily activities focus on building peace in our communities.  Outside fun and creative activities are also part of a day at camp. Registration is held in early June and space is limited. Lunch and snacks are provided.

STARS HOMEWORK CLUB
This after-school program is for children in grades 1st-5th.  Meetings are every Tuesday and Thursday in the Skyline Community Room.  Each child who participates has a teen or college mentor to help with homework, as well as read for 20 minutes.    Every session includes a fun, educational activity that coordinates with the weekly themes.  Participation is limited to 15 children.  Get and return your sign up sheets in the Rental Office.

SUMMERTIME STARS
The Summertime STARS program is sponsored by Stark Community Foundation's Summertime Kids grant. Children in elementary school are eligible to participate in this summer program featuring special activities, crafts, field trips and more. Themes include cooking, gardening and other fun summer activities.

PROJECT C.A.R.E.
This award winning program, a partnership with Canton City Schools, trains interested residents to serve as wellness coordinators for their building. Coordinators receive training in First Aid, CPR,  how to take blood pressure, temperatures, etc.  Monthly meetings are held to share experiences, information and learn new skills. Training sessions for new coordinators are held twice a year. If you would like to become a coordinator, stop in the office and pick up an application. This program is made possible by a grant through the Neighborhood Partnership Grant Program.

SKYLINE BABY SHOWER
Every six months, pregnant moms are invited to the Skyline Baby Shower. At the shower, mothers-to-be will receive free baby items, gifts, as well as lots of information on baby related issues. Speakers include a baby massage therapist, pediatric nurse and other health professionals.  Shower is limited to 10 moms.  Sign up in the Rental Office.
